During the hybrid two-day event, our consortium presented our work revealing the central role of Synthetic Biology in research, education, industry and the bioeconomy.

During the General Assembly, the project coordinators presented the specific objectives of each Work Package and the consortium focused on the next steps of the Research Infractructure.

Our Consortium as well as local authorities gathered together at the University of Thessaly, in order to launch the newly formed OMIC-Engine Infrastructure.

Dr Konstantinos Vavitsas, Senior Research Associate at the University of Athens, delivered a workshop on the importance of writing in the sciences.

In our third OMIC Webinar we welcomed Boas Pucker, Post-Doctoral researcher at the Department of Plant Sciences of the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. His speech focused on various long read sequencing applications in plant genomics.

During the Meetup, Kostas Mathiopoulos, project coordinator of OMIC-Engine, presented a variety of synbio applications on insect pest control and one of our researchers, Constantine Garagounis, introduced the next generation of iGEMers to the principles of Synthetic Biology.
